Canada Father-son Made The World's Fastest Jet-powered Truck "Shockwave"

2014-02-27 10:15:18

Called the "Shockwave", this colorful best truck is the world's fastest jet-powered truck that can reach speeds close to 400 mph, thanks to its three massive jet engines.

The '57 Chevy was brought and modified by father-son duo of Neal and Chris Darnell in 2012. This monster is powered by three Pratt&Whitney J34-48 jet engines taken from US Navy training jets each capable of producing 12,000 hp for a whopping total of 36,000 hp.

"It's an awesome experience, you won't believe it until you see it," owner and driver Neal Darnell said. According to co-driver Chris Darnell, Shockwave holds the Guinness World Record for "fastest jet truck in the world" at 376mph, which makes it capable of leaving a Japanese bullet train behind. In fact, "Shockwave" can reportedly cover a distance of a quarter mile in just 6.5 seconds. "On acceleration, the driver experiences about 6G. We then stop this beast using two 16in ring slot military parachutes, which produce an impact of up to negative 9G. It is some ride."

This fiery truck product holds 190 gallons of fuel and burns 180 gallons per performance.
